Bios

Elena Vizuet – Director/Alto

Elena Vizuet is the founder and director of Musica Vitale. She was born in Russia, where she earned her masters degree in conducting and music education. She is a music teacher at Coronado Village Elementary, a cantor, alto soloist and section leader, and assistant music director at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coronado, and a member of the San Diego Opera Chorus.

Renée Woodring - Soprano

Renée Woodring is the manager of Musica Vitale. She earned a B.A. in Music from The Pennsylvania State University in 2002. She is currently the soprano soloist and section leader at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coronado, and teaches private singing lessons in Kearny Mesa.

Caroline Henry - Soprano

Caroline Henry (not pictured) is a longstanding member of the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Choir in Coronado and is actively involved in ensemble music there. Concurrently, she sings with Point Loma Nazarene University's Choral Union as well as being soloist and leading worship music for Community Bible Study (CBS).  Caroline also presents special musical performances for groups within the community throughout the year. 

Lois Myers - Alto

Lois Myers is a native of Washington State, where she began her life long love and study of singing. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwest University, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Montana.  Lois has been pursuing her professional singing career in San Diego since 1998.  She is the alto soloist and choir section leader at Mission Hills United Church of Christ. This December marks her tenth season as a Core Chorister of the San Diego Opera Chorus. 

Bob Cornish - Tenor

Bob Cornish is a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir in Coronado.  He has performed as a member of the San Diego Men's Chorus, the San Diego Comic Opera Chorus, and the San Diego Opera Chorus.

Paul David Terry - Bass

Paul David Terry is Director of the UCSD Pep Band. He is the bass soloist and section leader at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coronado, and has performed with several local ensembles including the La Jolla Symphony, and the San Diego Master Chorale. He will make his debut with the San Diego Opera Chorus in December. Paul serves on the board of ARTS: A Reason To Survive, and is the co-director of Programs for ARTS. Paul studied music and biology at the University of California, Davis, where he frequently visits to sing with the University Alumni Chorus and play drums with the Cal-Aggie Alumni Marching Band.

Kent Lasater - Bass

Kent Lasater has a B.S. degree in choral music and voice, and an M.A. in Education from California State University in Northridge. He is a member of the San Diego Opera Chorus and has performed in over 30 operas since 1997. Formerly, Kent was a choir director at Blessed Sacrament Church in San Diego, and bass soloist and cantor at Sacred Heart Church in Coronado. Presently he sings with the St. Brigid’s Church Choir in Pacific Beach. He has worked with the international choral masters, Roger Wagner and Paul Salamunovich in both concerts and movies. Kent has appeared as bass soloist for works including the Faure Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and Bach’s St. John Passion. He is a vocal student of James Uselman and Wendy Kallen.
